not everyone like flat black car, or shity looking interior, I think its nice, but thing in the front grill gots to go. does it make you a ricer if you have a nice paint job? I like clean install. interior is a must.

robs99si 10-14-2004 11:26 AM

Re:the civic is done (pics)

that's a clean looking instal. i'd sand that manifold as best i could while being mounted on the car and paint it with a paint brush or you could mask averything real good and hit it carefuly with some spray paint.
i used this stuff on mine.
http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/P...1/p-35/c-10101
if you thin it with some laquer thinner and brush it on, it'll dry real flat(no bruch marks) after the header gets the paint real hard by heating up.

Re:the civic is done (pics)

the car looks good. it aint that ricey, atleast the body kit has a clean look to it. only exterior change i'd do is
take off the blue H emblem and the black emblem mount that goes on the gril. oh and if it has altezzas? get some oem red and whites. it stil looks good how it is though.

projekteg 10-14-2004 11:33 AM

Re:the civic is done (pics)

ditch the spoiler, alcheezas, ---- in the grill, and blue emblems and you got a sweet ride. nice install.

rudebwoy 10-14-2004 11:37 AM

Re:the civic is done (pics)

I would paint the manifold, silver, or black temp. definately get rid of that mesh grill, or get a full piece mesh grill, if you need it to protect your intercooler, keep it clean. the interior is nice. it just trip me out on here that everytime someone have a nice clean car everyone call them ricers, and when someone has a banged up 88crx its nice. it dont make sense.

Re:the civic is done (pics)

man im loving this
i bought the car and it was like that pic i posted...ive worried more about the engine than just the looks
hey i did take the decals off?....so im rice cuz i have a big spoiler and a mesh grill (those holes are for factory fogs...which have bulbs ordered for them)?
no offense but my car may look just a tad bit better than some...even with the interior painted
and for my mani....can i use a whiz wheel and a wire brush and then paint it?
jman

robs99si 10-14-2004 01:35 PM

Re:the civic is done (pics)

yeah, a wire wheel on a dril will work good. i posted a link up there for some good paint that i used. jdm is the low carb name for rice now.

nice car, nice setup.how does the car pull.how many lbs. of boost are you pushing.how neat is that uberdata.who cares if your rice or not.some people like a stock looking car and some just hate cause they aint got the money to put ---- on the car.

Re:the civic is done (pics)

Set-up looks nice.

Gotta have on the painted interior trim, wing, gigantic lip, and some other things in the vehicle.

Looks like you have come a long way from the ricey show car though, just keep improving.

Congrats on joining the boosted world.

He said he just uses it to adjust VTEC and for system monitoring. It won't advance the timing in that case.

when u make slight adjustments with an afc while tuning, say + 3 or -2 for example, it affects the timming ever so slightly as compared to when u use the "hack" which is -40. so in his case, the timing advance is not an issue

More go, less show...nice ride anyway...just think of what you could have made if you spent more money on parts instead of bling...

And the advance is not an issue here at all because he's not making any adjustments with it. He's not even doing +1 or -1 why would he? He's got that all covered with Uberdata.

jman30513 10-16-2004 07:56 AM

Re:the civic is done (pics)

the "bling" was already there....look at the pics before i bought the car
lol
and as for go, im up there with any of you...
i bought this car turboed, wheels, and kits as it sit for 6k
not bad considering it has only 68k on a 98ex
so ive only spent about 1500 on it
now hush it up!
lol

do you have an intercooler or is that thing in the grille some ricearoni?

car looks pretty good.. i like the kit. its subtle. more like a lip kit than some "ninja samurai kombat koji attack jdm blitz kit"

I still dont understand the vafc thing, I still have mine hooked up and I going to used uberdata, and everyone on engine management say take it out, so whats the deal? did you disconect the wires that modified the map? or is everything still hooked up? I would like to know so I dont have to get rid of my vafc.

you can leave it connected, if your settings a +/- 0 all across the board, the afc will have no effect on your map signal.

I think the car's pretty clean. At least it has mods under the hood to back up the looks of it. Not a real big fan of that single wiper though.
