this may be faq but, how do you instal check valves. i have no prior fish tank or turbo experience. sounds like it has a good purpose though.

Re:check valves
Shamelessly stolen from Jeff.
http://a2.cpimg.com/image/DC/40/1849...-01B4013C-.jpg They are used to keep the MAP from reporting boost pressure to the ECU. If the ECU see's boost it will throw a CEL and drive like poo. If you fuel with a rising rate you need to do this. |
Re:check valves
tell me if i am correct. remove the map and run vaccuum lines and T all check valves and connect hose to the nipple on the throttle body.
|
Re:check valves
wrong.
keep the map where it is, there is a vacuum line going from the intake manifold to the map, this line you tee off and place a check valve in a way that when there is positive pressure in the line it opens the valve and vents the pressure in the line. |
Re:check valves
i have a 99 si & the map sensor doesn't have a vacum hose, it has an electrical conector. is there another map sensor? i know how to install the check valve by removing the map sensor i have, but in the faq it says i don't have to remove the map sensor. if there's a way where i can install the check valves without removing the map sensor. let me know thanks ;D

Re:check valves
yea, i checked mine, it is a 99 ex. no vaccuum hose.

Re:check valves
get a missing link....theres one in the classifieds
|
Re:check valves
YES, my missing link...you won't beat this price.
|
Re:check valves
even with a missing link, it still attaches to the vacuum line off the map sensor.
there has to be a vacuum line, thats what controls the map sensor reading. |
Re:check valves
i think that the map is connected directly to a nipple on the throttle body.
