Check this out guys (DIY Compressor mapping)

Hey i was trying to figure out what turbo to run and i made a little program to help. Open it in excel. Basically input the Displacement and Boost and it will give you the corrected mass flow and pressure ratio. Dont mess with the other numbers unless you know what your doing. This will give you a very close estimate of what your looking for. Then just compare the pressure ratio and corrected mass flow to your compressor map and thats it.

Re: Compressor map program

Thats pretty cool It seems to work pretty good. I'm just really sick of looking at excel right now, 4 hours last night doing homework.

Very nice work. I think most of us just pick up a junkyard T3 and run it, but I've looked into compressor maps before to plan for the big project and it's a ball of confusing garbage.

This should be a sticky of some sort. ;)

Re: Compressor map program

After you put in your info you can compare it to compressor maps here http://64.225.76.178/catalog/compmaps/fig5.html

Now is where i decide if i want a Super 60 T3 or a 40 trim T3/T04E..... :-\

Anybody check this out?

I checked it out. The hmt way is to not look at compressor maps, but it's definately a cool thing you made. I could use it as the "DIY of the month" spotlight next month if you'd like. Pm me if interested.

thanks..

even though i already did the math for my setup, this is a nice little tool to have.

Re: Check this out guys (DIY Compressor mapping)

okay this is the ----!

question though...now i plugged all my info into the ------sheet and i opened the compressor map for my t3 60 trim, now what?

i mean i layed out a straight horizontal line at 1.78 pressire ratio (the vertical edge on the map) and then marked along that line where my CMF number fell at each rpm. so i have a straight horizontal line with CMF points at each point for rpm.

is that correct did i explain that well enough. its hard to explain does anyone have a graph that is correctly plotted?

im using a z6 motor so 1595 displacement and 10 psi for input numbers
and im using the t3 "60 trim" map if someone wants to duplicate this.
thanks!
