Cheapest setup possible
 

Without saying get it all for free from people, what is a reasonable cheapest setup. The basics that I will have to have but be reliable for daily driver. nothing crazy just stock internals and some more fun drivable power. If I search around and do some junkyard scavanging what is the average cost one can do a basic setup for. Thanks in advance. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Best advice is wait for good deals. If you know some DSM buddies or WRX buddies doing turbo upgrades, offer to buy theirs. Start checking out ebay for good deals.

Its hard to say what junkyards will charge you because each one is different. It also depends on the shape of the turbo, mileage, etc.

When you go to a junkyard, don't act like you NEED the part. If they know you need it, they will charge you accordingly.

Cool. Thanks for the advice. What is a basic shopping list of must haves? The lists vary a bunch out there.

Try to do all of the custom work and install yourself, you'll save on labor charges. You don't need an intercooler(although it's reccomended). And get an FMU for fuel management(not the best kind of fuel management, but it will work). And stick with LOW boost...the better the fuel management and other components you get, the more boost you will be able to safely run.
