cheap oil return flange?

I'm trying to figure a way to domy oil return without welding.
(plz dont mention jb weld i know about it already).

I was thinking of just driling some holes and boltin on
a flange/gasket.

but the only flange i've seen is at cheapturbo.com
http://store4.yimg.com/I/cheapturbo_1746_946448

and it costs 23fuckin bucks, before shipping/taxes,

thats too much for a tiny chunk of metal.
I understand why they charge that though, it's cnc'd.

but does anyone know of somewhere to find a cheaper one?
anything cheap is fine, doesnt need to be fukin cnc aluminum, heh sheesh.

youre talking about the return on the pan?....that one is for the turbo side. just go to home depot and get a brass barbed fitting

ooh it is? hmm,
well yes I was talking about the pan.
but cant weld, and dont trust jbweld.. althought I might resort to it.

which is why the fitting isnt very enticing.

you dont need jbweld...just thread the fitting through the pan

wah!? really??

I'd have to get a tool to put proper threads in the hole in the pan though right? or else it'd leak without any welding/permanent sealant

just make the hole the right size, you wont need to tap it. it wont leak since the fitting goes throught the oil pan all the way

there isn't any pressure behind the oil draining into your oil pan from the turbo, so pretty much any fitting you stick in there and weld/jbweld in there will work just fine. dude there's nothing wrong with jbweld.

you don't need to thread the oil pan because the oil pan walls are about 1-2 mm thick.

gotcha,

ghettoturbo thinks I wont need anything tho,
just thread the fitting in.

any other thoughts on that?

Put some type of sealant on that ---- at least.

Just get a drill bit a tad under the size of your brass fitting and then screw the fitting into the pan. No big deal. I'd use some high temp sillicon on the threads of the brass fitting just to be sure. This is what I did on my turbo project and never ahd a problem with it.

Yeah, don't just stick it in there loosely and JB Weld it. It'll start leaking eventually! I'm redoing my return setup with a tunertoys flange on the turbo and I'm getting a fitting brazed to the oil pan, all this because I trusted JB Weld and it sucks. Tomorrow will be my 3rd day on this repair job >:( freakin' toyota had to flip the engine around, working on that car is a bioch!

i disagree! i had to fix my oil return also cuz oil wasnt flowing good and it was getting pushed out the exhaust seals and smoking. i bought a cheap fitting from lowes and i jb welded that sucker on there! i put enough to make sure it wouldnt come loose and it dried very strong so i shouldnt have a problem. its been like that for at least a month and no leaks at all with heavy driving. its all in how you take your time doing it and setting the fitting properly so it wont come loose. i just painted black over the jbweld and you could barely even tell its there.

F'ed up oil returns suck. You can get a bulkhead fitting any size from summit. it's basically a real long AN fitting and you get a nut so it screws together.
