Cheap an easy couplers?

What are some things that I might be able to get locally that I can use as long couplers for 2.5" charge pipes? I was gonna look for rad hose but found nothing that big. My buddy has got this intake on his Integra that looks to be make of this rubber tubing that looks perfect but we got no idea what it is. Anyone?

Go to napa and get some truck radiator hose the stuff works great even better than silicone couplers

Rad. hose works good, I use it for coupplers and even works good for a 90 deg. bend. a little spermatex and I've never had a prob with it blowing off, even with a few 16 psi boost spikes.

do you tell them silicone hose or truck radiator hose? they are super different especially in price.

try asking for 2.5" ID truck rad hose at my napa its around $15-16 a foot but well worth it. thats what ive used on all 3 of my setups no problems.

Rad hose, I've gotten 5 feet at 50 bucks or so. It works out to cheaper than buying Vibrant couplers. Just ask to look at their catalog.

Or if your boosting low (say 8psi or lower) use the pvc couplers at Lowes and Menards. Just make sure they arent next to intense heat.

I get my rad hose from napa for like 10 bucks a foot i guess. It works so good that When I started taking charge pipes apart yesterday to change my broken tranny I found that one of the clamps was loose but the pipe didn't blow off.

I went to the local ruber factory(small rubber maker). They make all kind of small parts from rubber. He made ne couplers for 5$ per item and when I used the same size I made 100cm for 10$ rubber tube and made it my self.

couplers are easy to make

RyAn007 06-27-2009 12:56 AM

Well, great contribution iwant1, could we get more insight????? retard. You can get truck radiator hose at just yards to, but I would not reccomend the used ---- because you do not what hell it has been through, the extra 20 dollars is worth your setup right? Go to Napa and get the hose, or if you want to make it look good and well done you could just purchase silicone hose for the extra cash, it is worth it imo.

90 dollar 2inch ID "ractive" couple is 70dollars... woohoo for brand name overpricing..

2BarRacing 06-28-2009 04:28 PM

yeah ---- that ---- just because a coupler isnt blue or red doesnt mean it doesnt work. ---- i think truck rad hose with big old nasty t bolts looks way better than fancy ----

sirclay 07-03-2009 02:16 AM

go through a oe-replacement hose catalog at a parts store, great for finding bends and form fitted hoses
