charge piping.
well, i finally ran my charge piping, but im not sure how many psi it will be able to hold. the way i have it run is temporary until my order from summit goes through and arrives at my house (im ordering mandrel bent j bends and going to weld it all together.). for now, i just have straight exhaust pipe, and rubber elbows. will that hold 6-8 psi, or should i stay out of boost for the most part until i get the bend's in? im just curious, because i dont really want to wait until i get the new charge pipe fabbed up. anyways, post up your opinions. here are some pics of how the charge pipe is run.

Re: charge piping.
straight hood. I can definitely see that that first after the IM is gonna pop off after a
couple rounds of boost. It looks like you used a staight coupler instead of a 45 deg. It's really not a big deal thou. If it pops off just pull the car overand put it back on. When you get your new pipes, if you wanna sell those holla;) |
Re: charge piping.
i'm sure that will be ok for around 6 psi. but if it dosent work and you keep blowing charge pipes, just keep it out of boost... problem solved untill you get your better charge piping.

yes, they are home depot elbows, which i know will get flimsey when hot. i think im going to go up to napa and get some truck radiator hose because i hear that they hold up better. if i start having problems i will just weld it all together wtih some mandrel j bends. i just want everyone's opinion. |
Re: charge piping.
what size truck radiator hose are you gonna get?

Re: charge piping.
not too shabby... for temp use i went to the exhaust shop and took some exhaust pipe out of their dumpster and chopped it up to fit... im almost tempted to keep it
