charge pipe size reccomendation
this is my second hmt setup that im doing, my first was on my 00 civic si. im now gonna do one on my hoopty 93 coupe dx. i got ahold of a ihi rbh5 and was wondering if 2.5" piping was too big. i was thinking of doing 2" from the turbo to the intercooler, and going up to 2.5 after the i/c. what do u guys recommend, or should i just stay 2" all the way. thanx :)

Re: charge pipe size reccomendation
wat are your power goals? id say 2 to 2 1/4 inch. The way i did my pipes was, measure my throttle body diameter 2.5 inch and ran 2.5 from the TB to the intercooler. my compressor outlet is 2 inches, so i ran 2 1/4 off the compressor to the intercooler.

Re: charge pipe size reccomendation
if its a budget low-power setup, use whatever you have/can find. 2.25 would be my choice

Re: charge pipe size reccomendation
Don't mean to thread jack, but I have a DSM BOV still on the pipe and I was planning on just coupling the whole pipe into my system. It is small diameter, around 1 3/4" I think. If the rest of my charge piping is 2" or 2.25" will the DSM pipe totally negate the effect of the larger pipe and have the same results of the entire piping being 1 3/4"?

Re: charge pipe size reccomendation
With the stock exhaust and mufler the car has gone from making 65 BHP at the rear wheel to 110.
I can feel it all right. Esp as the complete car weighs 900 Kgs. Ps: THe pipe size of your BOV shouldnt really matter right. |
