Charge pipe question

I was goin to use a section of rad hose for a flex in the charge pipes. I was goin to use it before the IC inside the engine compartment. Would the hose get too hot and melt even if I wrap with some type of heatshield ?

Re:Charge pipe question

Well, it has been done before, but just make sure you keep it as far away from your manifold and turbo (or any other heat related part) as possible to prevent melting. Why not just pick up some mandrel bends and cut them to fit?

should be fine, rad hoses i believe can go up to 250f no problem.. and thats dam hot!

just make sure it isnt right near exhaust/manifold..

Re:Charge pipe question

the only reason i wana use the hose is for a bit of a flex for when the engine torques. I have some mandrels ready to be installed also. another question is what type connectors are u guys using to connect the madrels to madrels and mandrels to intercooler etc. ?

Re:Charge pipe question

if your cheap u can use radiator hose, just take your charge pipe in and fit a nice long rad hose up, they chop it up and use some clamps..

or silicon connections from ebay.

if you go to napa, they have a book they can actually look up radiator id's in and find you the perfect one without having me mess around with tryin to fit everyone.
