1500 miles is probably the best "point" it really depends on how hard you drive on the car I would guess.

i've never driven either of my cars very hard.. every once and a while i'll race someone a bit or ---- around... i'll do it at 1500 miles just to be safe, usually i shift before 3000 rpms anyway so i might be safe at 2000 miles, maybe.

The only other factor I would consider is... where you drive most of the time, is it constantly hot and dry (desert like?), is the area humid? Is it "dusty", like do you drive on dirt roads at all?

I remember something from one of my automotive classes that if you drive in "dusty" areas its better to change your oil more frequently then if you drive out on pavement all the time.

Even after turbocharging I still only change every 3,000 miles, and it seems to be okay. But I also only have a baby sized turbo.

Yeah yours is about the same size as mine, don't worry to much. It does generate heat, and wears the oil out a little bit faster but if you're just incredibly ---- (and praise to ya) ya can change the oil every 1500 or 3k, but I don't think it will make to much of a diff. either way bud.

This is just silly.. to change oil every 1500miles.. who came up with that number?

If you use it as daily driver, and occasionally beat it... I don't se a reason why would anyone want to change oil sooner than 5000miles.

Stock turbo cars have much longer oil change periods...
Hell, new turbo diesel engines have scheduled maintenance every 30.000km (approx 18.000 miles !!).

... offcource, it also all depends on what oil quality you use, and if you just use car for everyday beating.. in that case, yes, sooner change is better......
