is it doable at home?
easy?

anyone got steps to do it?just stright swap when getting a new one or do i need to do the bearings?and crap
ahhh
i might need to put in a new one since i snaped the fitting flush in the oil feed hole

you can do it with common tools but you have to make sure you mark the compressor propeller position some how other wise the turbo is gonna be out of balance and wont boost at all. Trust me I did that once :3

Are you going to a new one with new bearings in it or somthing? It should be pretty straightforward, just make sure you get the exhaust housing on evenly so it doesnt rub on the turbine and the turbo spins freely afterward. I would mark the position of the nut/shaft/compressor wheel so you put it back together the same way it came out. You can leave the compressor wheel in the compressor housing if youre careful, it saves a compressor housing gasket, just take the 4 10mm bolts out of the backing plate and remove it as an assembly

if nothing works then hes gonna put in a new center for me and rebuild the turbo too
