Does anyone know why the top of my IC has what appears to be cuts in it?
Is this to alleviate stress on the mounts?

They just get the cores like that. It doesn't affect anything, you're just fine.

Mine wasn't like that. If it's a big concern, email CCA and ask.

They Are expansion joints. I had the same question when i ordered mine.
I emailed cca about this, seems to only be on the offset FMIC's.
I guess if they did not add these it's possible the welds could crack
from expanding and contracting under high and low temps.
