Cars running wierd, help

When i put the gas to the floor, it accelerates VERY VERY slowly...... i had a compression test done and everything is good, anyone have any idea as to what it could be? i don't even think i could pull on a moped until it topped out........

READY for turbo or ALREADY turbo'd. if its not turbo'd right now thats your problem. you're running a forced induction map for NA.

I had a turbo on it and it didn't run right on it so i took it off to try to isolate the problem and i found that the motor didn't run right without the turbo so that ruled out the possibility of it being my turbo setup. the zdyne fuel table has both NA and turbo fuel map.........by that i mean the table goes from 20 vac down to 0, then on up to 20psi. so it should still be getting the right fuel. I talked to someone on the phone who sounded like his car was having the same problem, he described it as taking a long time to open up. i will try putting the stock ecu in there and see what happens but that won't be for a week so any more suggestions are welcome

you didn't answer the question if you have an A/F meter. fuel maps are not universal and do require tuning for individual applications. Just because its a turbo fuel map doesn't mean it will run right.

Also did you check other mechanical possibilities, clogged fuel filter, clogged cat, ect.? Are you blowing out black smoke? Does it just not accelerate or does the power 'clip' in and out? Need more details

i have an a/f meter hooked up but i don't think it's accurate for ----, i believe it was 3 yellow bars almost green when i floored it last time i drove it. i installed a brand new fuel filter when i put the motor in, cat is gutted, i rebuilt the motor with new rings, gaskets, lapped the valves, cross honed the cylinders. it just doesn't accelerate. i think it smokes a little when i get up in the rpms but nothing real drastic. black smoke by the way
