carb spring w/g streetable?

started mounting my turbo this afternoon and i ran into a couple of snags. while i was able to retain my ac by mounting the turbo in a twisted fashoin to the manifold, my wastegate actuator hit the ac and i couldn't keep it. for those that have used carb springs...how streetable are they? if i mount a spring for say 8 psi will it be consistent at different throttle or will it sometimes shoot to like 10-12 psi? i would rather use an actuator and i'm going to see if i can lenthen the arm and bend it all around so i can mount the actuator in a different place on the turbo so it doesn't his the compressor, but i need a backup plan if that doesnt work.

when i used a spring it gave me half throttle boost spikes

I love carb springs, but I only roll 4-5 psi with them. I just don't trust them at higher psi's :-\

i run a spring setup for 5-7psi. havent ran it for too long though so i dont really have any driving impressions...

tnx for the help guys. i was able to ghetto rig the original wastegate actuator. i've been working on it for an hour or two a night after work and i only have to mount the fmic, chargepipes, bov, injectors, resistor box, btm, and downpipe. looking to be complete this weekend and get it tuned next week. wahoooo!!!

How do you install them.
I have a T25

i was able to get my stock wg to work by installing the turbo and manifold, then trying to find a suitable way to mount the wg actuator. i ended up still being able to mount it to the turbo, but i fashioned an extension from a steel L bracket and twisting it to reach the flapper arm. it looks ghetto, but no one see's it and i'm still able to use the actual actuator. this is good since now i want to raise the boost to like 10-12 psi.
here's a link to another board that i posted most of the stuff on. i'm working on getting everyting together for jeff to post here.
