Can you put an MBC inside the car?

I've been thinking about this, I'd really like to put my mbc inside the car opposed to under the hood.

When trying to adjust boost its soo annoying getting outta the car, popping the hood, turning it just a hair only to find that its not enough or too much.

Anyways i could run vac hose insde the car but I heard that it would cause boost creep. If its true I wont, if its not then i may have to try it.....

good question! theirs some guy over here that has one of the fastest cars in town. its a gsr with a drag 3 turbo kit. he has the turboxs manual boost controller running from the engine bay to inside the car. i guess he's been running like that for awhile and i dont know if he has any problems with it... i think i will try that too to ease the walking back and forth to get the boost turned up.

Re:Can you put an MBC inside the car?

I've never tried it myself. I'm sure the boost spikes will be fun. ;) If I were to do it, I would run one line from the actuator to the MBC in the cab and take the other end directly from the intake so the line doesn't have to be 37 feet long. Just block off the port on the compressor. Only one way to find out if it works. ;) Let us know how it goes. :)

Re:Can you put an MBC inside the car?

Good point but again you forget that I'm not a honda, it would it would be shorter to go back to my turbo compressor housing becasue of where my exhaust manifold is..

So it will probably create boost spikes though? My vac hose for it is almost 4 ft or so already i bet sine i have it running out away from the turbo to make it easier to adjust..... i do get some spike but only when easing into the gas very lightly and letting rpm's build

Ah, that's right, you're one of those J body guys. :P Try it out and see what happens. I bet it doesn't make a noticable difference.

It isn't like electricity. Air doesn't flow that fast so I can see where some problems might arise from having extremely long lines. How long? As it has been said, one way to find out!

Re:Can you put an MBC inside the car?

Here is the best way of haveing a mbc you can fully controll in the car, goto http://www.boostcontroller.com/ and check out the hallman evolution mbc. The controller stays in the engine bay but has a cable and knob that can turn it from inside the engine bay. Several dsm guys around here use these and say they work great.

Re:Can you put an MBC inside the car?

damn! for $170 :o thats alot for us low ballers! for that much you can probably get an electronic one on egay or the for sale section! Its bad ass and i like it but its just a bit pricey... i'm pretty sure i've seen somebody here in town with their turbo xs mbc in the cockpit and he just used a longer line. i guess we just have to shut up and try to see if it works ourselves

Re:Can you put an MBC inside the car?

Hmmm lets see 170 or $5 - 10 in more vac hose.... I think i'll try the extra hose lol.

Anyways this is homemadeturbo.com.....not gofuckinbroke.com :) I really cant afford something like that. If I could I'd probably go digital. Good info tho

Re:Can you put an MBC inside the car?

I think spikes are a definate, but whether they are bad enough to not do it? That's debatable. Give her a try, and we'll see. Best of luck
