I clocked my 14b. I didn't remove a snap ring. I just loosen the main band, and reefed on it. I had to modify my wastegate actuator. It wasn't long enough anymore, so I cut it in the middle and tapped both ends, and used one of those 1" long nuts to make it adjustable.

My 14b is off the POS right now

I just loosened the main band, that's to the right of all the oil and water inlets. This allowed me to twist the center section and compressor side together. I angled it so the oil line wouldn't rub the mani, and the oil drain was straight.
Now that I think about it, I actually shortened the wastegate actuater. You can see what I was talking about with tapping it and using a long nut to make it adjustable.

You can see the snapring djfob was talking about, by the AN oil feed fitting. I guess if you remove this you can clock the compressor side independent of the center section.

You'll need to remove the snap ring... there is a little pin that locks the sides into the right location. If you grind that pin off you can then put the ring on loosely and rotate the assembly.

Ya, Grind the pin, I made the mistake of not realizing it was there and broke my center housing, hopefully she still bosts or it's JB Weld to the rescue or a .48/60 or .60/63 in the future

Let me tell you what a HUGE bitch that snap-ring is. I had to steal a giant pair of ratcheting snap-ring pliers from the Snap-On guy to do mine. The pliers were $80 and he told me to just use it and return it but I never returned it, and it was never on my account.

That is about all that is needed, not a very hard job.. some people don't know about the pin..
