Re:CAN u just pull of Internal waste
usually it bolts off. if it's made to part of turbo, and can't be takin off?, which I doubt then snap that acuator apart..I think i'm not 100% sure

Re:CAN u just pull of Internal waste
you have to seal up that flapper valve that is inside the downpipe beside the exhaust outlet so that it doesn't leak exhaust gasses.

Re:CAN u just pull of Internal waste
take off the actuator (the part with the arm on the outside of the turbo) and get a little piece of metal welded in the place of the flapper that it was hooked up to.

Re:CAN u just pull of Internal waste
No welding needed. Just unbolt and pull the actuator from the compressor side, and unbolt and replace the swingvalve assembly with a "block-off" flange made for your turbo. You weld your dp to the flange. Then sell the internal gate. You can probably come out even or ahead on the conversion after selling the internal wg parts (plus the cost of the external gate of course). Just keep in mind, an external gate is more difficult/expensive to mount and plumb, but no the turbo conversion is no problem on any turbo I've seen.

Re:CAN u just pull of Internal waste
Are internal or external wastegates more a/c compatible?
|
Re:CAN u just pull of Internal waste
neither should really affect A/C. You've got more options with external as to where to mount it but you really want to mount it directly above your manifold where all 4 runners come together, if possible.
What Turbo is it? |
