Can I use a oil cooler to feed a turbo?
 

i have a Garrett turbo and would like to use a oil cooler to feed it. Has this been done? I have searched but found nothing. How much presure would a sandwich adapter feed. And will that also work for the return or do I need to tap the oil pan? Does anybody know?

No you cannot use the sandwich for the return. You must tap the oil pan, the return line must be gravity fed.

Let me know what you all think. I have the oil cooler kit. I am going to pull the thermastat off the sandwich. Plug the return side and feed the turbo with the sand. Tap the oil pan and not even use the cooler. Or should I throw it in for good measure because I have it. I live in NC. I am a little scared of what would happen this winter If I use the cooler.

I live in Asheville. I am running a sandwich adapter to an oil cooler and I have a "t" in the oil cooler outlet line that feeds the turbo (with a restrictor valve). The other part of the line returns to the sandwich adapter.
The turbo of course has a return to the oil pan.

i am having my oil feed line go in and out of a oil cooler prior to get to the turbo.
