can i set up my WG like this??

hey guys. here is a pic of my t3 from a nissan. i think its from a 240 or a 300 i forgot which. but i am going to be running external wastegate. i was going to get a dp flange that blocks off the internal WG hole.. and add a pipe of the mani for the wg.
my question is.. when i get a flange could i have a hole cut that will match the hole from the origional internal wg, and use that as my port for my external wg? and just put a pipe on the flange that will connect to the wg? or shuld i just stick with having it come off the mani itself?

you "could" do that but the reason you go external is because its bigger flows better and gets rid of boost creep. So it might or might not work, will probably not work if your going big boost levels.

well it would work. but like he said you may have a very small issue with boost creep. but then again maybe not.

i have that same turbo tho. where do you plan to get your flange done?

i emailed him and asked him if he had a flange that would fit my t3, he said he didnt think so, so he told meto make a mock for him to use to make the flange. i asked him to have it so it blocks off the internal wg hole and only has the turbine hole. im going to be making a mock tonight or sat. and mailing it out to him. just email him and send him a pic of ur exhaust housing where the flange would be and tell him waht u need.

thanks for th imput guys ill end up doing the wg off the mani now, just like i was plaining on

You can but that flange for $19.99 from blast performance. http://www.blaastperformance.com/index.php?p=7holesbof

Ya, I was going to get Aaron (Weirracing) to make mine but I've been to lazy to AutoCAD up a .dxf File for him because I don't need it till April.

Maybe if I have time I'll do it Sunday.

Thats a dam good idea, could always port the hole on the exhaust side of the turbo to just incase of any creep

Good way to make an effiecient dump turbo and clean looking setup, I'll def remember this for next time

thanks for that link. i have loooked everywhere but couldnt find one..

ill probly end up just have the wg come off the mani like normal. that hole cant be ported too much bigger, and although it would be a very clean setup (which im goin for) i think it would be a little more efficent /safe to run it off the mani. not sayin there would be creep but i dont wana go though with gettin it on the dp flange then end up havin creep..
