can I install my afc and injectors and drive b/f turbo

Can I put my afc and 450cc injectors in before I get my turbo on and drive it? I don't want a lot of down time on my install. I have to make my manifold and charge pipes, so It might take a while.

yeah, but i don't think you can lean it out enough to make it run good. i believe the afc only goes down to -40 on the fuel settings, you would prolly still be rich even at
-40 with 450's. you can definitely install the afc with you stock injectors though and just set the settings at zero or prolly even take away a little fuel at wot, usually cars run a little rich from the factory.

You could install the AFC... I just did my VAFC last week and it runs fine w/o any tuning. I have my resistor pack all wired and the injectors ready to install... But they're sitting on my workbench and not in my car yet.

ya just set it to -47% or so accross the board.

(btw, S/V-afc goes to +/-50%

so...before turbo I should install my V-AFC in advance and leave the settings at zero? and than after the turbo is in, should I install my 450's with the resistor pack at the same time and just drive it to the shop like that, or leave them out and let them install the 450s when I get it there and than just tune everything up with the v-afc?

i did the afc hack on my car weeks before the turbo just to start getting some things out the way and ran perfect idle was way better than stock. went from 1200-1300 to a nice steady 900 rpm. i had it at -38 at 1000 and then -39 the rest. its better to do it now and get that out the way also make sure you solder those resistors in there.

What is the car going into the shop for?

As already stated several times, install the injectors and AFC and set it to -(negative)47 and you will be fine.

I think he's asking if he can install the injectors and AFC without a turbo...?

its not like it really matters, this is a temporary NA setup.

I'll do that then. I'm only planning on running it like that for a few weeks at the MOST. I just want to start on my turbo and get most of it done.

Don't mean to jack this thread, but I'm curious to know that after the setup is installed (with 440 injectors with a VAFC), do you adjust your settings with the key on and the motor off? ...and how well does the car run with the hack untuned? I'm thinking I might need to run a week or two untuned.
