Default Cam help

I have a z6 head that I recently bought. And I purchased a crower cam the other day. However the cam turns out to be a y8 cam. I have read that a y8 cam will work in a z6 you just have to advance the timing 4.5 degrees. Is this true or am I better off buying a new cam and trying to sell mine? Any help is appreciated. It is the stage 2 crower for turbo by the way.

instead of spending time bumping your thread take .22 seconds and search for yourself
Results 1 - 10 of about 47,700 for y8 cam in z6. (0.22 seconds)
y8 cam w/ z6 sprocket, z6 cam w/ y8 sprocket - D-series.org

If you can find a y8 head you may see more gains considering the intake manifolds are different but I don't see why it wouldn't work. I hate it when that happens, I have ordered a D-Series Skunk 2 Intake Manifold and received a B-Series mani. I feel your pain but at least you can make it work.

the y8 head sucks compared to the z6 why would he go with a y8 head. and the manifolds are identical in terms of power

Fine, ---- the head. Z6's are rated @ 125 and y8's @ 127 not much difference but I have always been told the y8's head was better.
