Re:building up B16a SiR II to handle boost
Pistons, (forged) JE/SRP/ARIAS/Wiesco
Rods (thicker) Crower/Eagle/Corillio/JE Sleeve (thicker walls) AEBS/Golden Eagle/Darton.. others After all the machine work, and parts, with new bearings/gaskets you should be around 2500 or more.. for a built shortblock. Jeff |
Re:building up B16a SiR II to handle boost
with those mods how many PSI can the engine handle? we're talking about B16A
|
Re:building up B16a SiR II to handle boost
properly tuned, a good 25-30 psi is reasonable..
that doesnt mean the rest of the car will handle it :o |
Re:building up B16a SiR II to handle boost
give me examples.

Re:building up B16a SiR II to handle boost
driveline, clutch, brakes, suspension, tranny, etc... pretty much anything I would guess.
---- a built B16A with 25-30 psi of boost would be damn fast. |
Re:building up B16a SiR II to handle boost
how fast it would be on the track? 1/4 mile?

Re:building up B16a SiR II to handle boost
there is really no way of telling what it will run because there are so many other factors such as tires, traction, weight, weather, and most importantly driving skill

Re:building up B16a SiR II to handle boost
average estimated time?

Re:building up B16a SiR II to handle boost
H2R... you're not listening... i can show you a built B16A that (because of its stupid owner) can only manage a 13 second slip, and on the other hand, a guy i know used to run what was basically a built B16A (not bored or stroked), and easily hit 9's with it. There are really too many factors involved. You could take a 9 second engine and put it into a car that isn't prepared for it, and wind up with either a very slow time, or no time at all (breakage).
If you're building an engine all the way out, there is no way to tell you what it should run. You can have two identical engines running two different turbo's, and wind up with two very different times. Sorry, but the only way of knowing exactly is to build it and run it. But if you are looking for a number, i'd say ass fast as your checkbook can handle, but faster than a 12.0 (asssuming everything else is kosher with the ssetup). Not much help, is it? LoL. |
