Here are some pictures of my hmt build. I need to take some pictures of the finished product.
Car: 1989 integra with 198k miles Engine: d16a1 Turbo: 14b Here is my parts list: 14b $50 Manifold (hf-ish) $40 Saab Bov: $10 Walbro FP $90 Ebay FMIC $80 Map sensor voltage clamp $60 Turbo oil line kit $85 Wastegate (emusa 38mm) $60 MBC (nxs) $15 Misc $50 FMU: Free (from previous build) Intercooler piping (free previous build) Total ~$550 This is the only pic I have of the exterior of the car right now. Nothing special, a g1teg with a straight body and ---- paint. https://www.homemadeturbo.com/attach...ine=1321377017 For the turbo manifold I went HMT style. I live in south louisiana where it is hot and humid, so I wanted to keep A/C. I bought a used, aftermarket manifold for a sohc y7. Like this one: https://www.homemadeturbo.com/attach...ine=1321377017 Then I bought a 2.5" exhaust flange from napa with a bolt spacing that is the same as the bolt spacing on the round flange on the above manifold. I welded a 2.5" mandrel U-bend pipe to this flange to make a sink-trap manifold that places the turbo by the transmission. Not the easiest way to do it, but it was cheap and lets me keep a/c. See the pics below: https://www.homemadeturbo.com/attach...ine=1321377017 https://www.homemadeturbo.com/attach...ine=1321377017 https://www.homemadeturbo.com/attach...ine=1321377017 https://www.homemadeturbo.com/attach...ine=1321377017 That is all the picture I have. I finished this in January, and sadly never took any pictures of the finished product. I have an 8:1 FMU and WOT afrs show around 11.6-11.8:1 on the wideband. I have the timing retarded 2* from stock and am running around 7psi. I have put around 10k (hard) miles on it since I've turbo charged it. No failures to date, and she pulls pretty good. I think I could manage a high to mid 14 in her. The 14b hits 7psi around 3k and pulls nice all the way to 7k. I'll try to get some pics of the finished product. I think you guys would appreciate how I routed the intercooler piping. Just looped it under the front bumper, looks like ----. |
