Budget turbo build

I am a 35R powerd DSM owner...a buddy of mine has a 91 teggy.....with a SMIM, CAI, and exhaust

I have some stock DSM 450's, stock DSM side mount intercooler, and a T25

I am gonna be building this...I do not kno much about hondas...

How much power can his b18 hold?...motor is bone stock and high miles

also what else will I need besides a FPR, SAFC, and wideband?

On DSM's we tap the oil from the oil filter housing...where do I tap from the b18?...I will be welding a bung on the pan for the drain

how much boost is safe with the t25?

thanx for the space

and everyone gets hazed, make sure your balls arent hanging out by your belt.

seriously, the efficiency of a honda motor in cfm requirements will surpass that t25 on 5lbs of boost. sell the t25, buy a hx30 or a hx35/he351/h1c and run 10lbs. youll giggle like a little girl when you accomplish dirty thirds

they speak the truth. read a lot, throw that safc in the trash, and then read some more. pretty much everything you need to turbo a honda is in the stickies

there is every aspect of the honda world available here on this forum, as registered members. tuning, transmissions, turbos, wiring, fabrication, and some amazing welders. if hmt can't answer your question, then noone can.

Re: Budget turbo build

for a basic answer, there is no such thing as a budget turbo kit. they take alot of money if the motor if you expect it to last longer than 3 months... this is HMT, not BMT.

for example, things you need...

turbo
mani
down pipe
charge pipes
connectors for charge pipes
computer/ tuning
injectors

thats just a very very minor list as to what you will need and in what i listed i have over 1K

search, do it right the first time! good luck

you can turbo a car for less than 1k easy i have ~500 in my setup and all i plan on buying is a fmic to replace the smic.
if you look in the right places you can find good deals
i got
manifold, turbo, downpipe, bov, misc pipes and connectors, mbc, smic, and oil lines for 200
450 injectors and a chipped ecu with a zif socket for 160
boost and a/f gauge 40
battery relocation stuff 50
misc hoses 30
thats only 480 right there
so 1k is not a buget build

Re: Budget turbo build

SAFC works well on MAF sensor cars (DSMs mostly). On cars that use MAP sensors (all hondas), they suck balls. $25 chip from xenocron own will run your car better than having it tuned with safc. Throw it away or put it in another DSM.
