Broken boost gauge?

I just got a new boost gauge and I dropped it while installing, like a foot or so. Now it reads at 10 vac with the car off, I can't start the car yet cause I need a chip. Did I just make my gauge retarded?

Re:Broken boost gauge?

Depends on if it's mechanically or electronically controlled. If it's electronically controlled, it's probably fine but you'll never know for sure until you start that bitch up.

Re:Broken boost gauge?

it should be good. back in the day, i had a tach that when the car was turned off, it would read 9K rpm's, but when i turned the car, it would set itself.

just hook it up, and see if it works. thats relaly all you can do. :-\
