Broken boost controler

Hello and just to let everyone know this site helped me boost my 99si. I used to have almost 3000 posts but I forgot the password and had switched email addresses and I couldn't get the password to my old screen name which was trebor_nordap. Anyways, I had a problem with my turbo and two bolts from the compressor housing came loose and they held the internal waste gate onto the turbo, it would only build like 4psi cause of the huge exhaust leak from the loosened up waste gate actuator. Now after I removed the whole turbo set up just to tighten up those two bolts and I also put thread lock on them. My boost controler which is the turbo xs standard mbc stoped working. My car would boost upto 14+ psi so I just hooked up the vacume hoses directly to the internal wastegate and now it boost 7psi which is what the wastegate came from factory with. I ordered a new turbo xs boost controler and now the new boost controler is broken also, boosting 14+ psi. what boost controler could you recomend? I made my own boost controler once and it had big boost spikes so I won't go that route again. Could there be something wrong with the wastegate or anything else that would cause both boost controlers to malfunction? Thanks for reading this long ass post. I already tried the search function and couldn't find anything on broken boost controlers please help. I replaced the wastegate/boost controler vacume hose with a new one incase the old one which was 2+ years old was messed up and it didn't help, please anyone that has had this happen to them please respond with some answers.

Re: Broken boost controler

i hooked my manual boost controller up backwards once and it boosted 13+ psi, flipped it around and i was back at 9.

not sure if that is even supposed to happen but it did. are you sure you have it going the right way?

Re: Broken boost controler

It's hooked up the right way according to instructions and I'm also adjusting it the right way. I just want to know how come my old turbo xs boost controler stoped working and why my new one doesn't work either.
