seems to me that if you are building your motor properly and allowing clearances for a turbo motor i.e. ring gap and piston to wall clearance its would make sense to break it in boosted because, only boost will seat the rings correctly

I break mine in with turbo, it's a waste of time to assemble an engine and put it in the car just to take the system apart afterwards to put a turbo on it.
It only takes a couple of hours to get drivable base maps, and that is if you're starting from scratch. |
