bov and wastefate
Hey i was wondering if the bov and waste gate have to match in psi. ive been trying to find a topic on here but cant find one that answers my question.

they both need red springs, or blue springs, or whatever. if you mis-match them, either the bov or the wg is going to surge against the other and it's going to increase indefinitely until one of them simply explodes from the backpressure.

Wastegates and blow off valves do two totally different things. A wastegate controls your boost pressure while a blow off valve releases compressed air when throttle shuts. Get whatever wastegate that will give you the psi that you need. Any blow off valve should do what you need it to. Have you seen blow off valves set at different psi? |

no i havent seen em at a different psi . i know that both wastegate and bov can have two different springs that would put them at different psi's. i didnt know if they had to matched or if it didnt matter.

i think he is talking about how some people rate their bovs as "good to xx psi"...in which case you dont want some cheapy plastic one if youre running 30 psi
