BOV and Vac

Does a BOV need vacuum? I was informed it runs off pressure. But if someone can correct me on this.

Re:BOV and Vac

the vacuum created inside the intake manifold when you close the throttle plate will "suck" the bov open to release the pressure from the turbo

yes you need a vacuum line

Re:BOV and Vac

Because I have my bov ran off a barb in my charge pipes next to my throttle body. Wondering if I should move this to the brake booster line.

Re:BOV and Vac

there should be one going from your intake manifold to the fuel pressure regulator or something similar which would be the best one to use

Re:BOV and Vac

I always heard for BOV that brake booster was the best?

Re:BOV and Vac

i've never heard of using the brake booster vacuum, but i guess it's all the same... on my 89 supra turbo the bov is actuated by a vacuum line coming from the intake manifold, if anything, i would say this would allow for the quickest bov actuation

i just t'd everything off my fpr vacuum line (bov, boost gauge, btm)...easy to get to and works well. wastegate is off the nipple on turbo compressor.
