BOV question?!?!

Alright well i plan on buying one of those greddy style type-s EGAY blow off valves and was wondering if i could cut off the flange part and drill a hole in my charge pipe the same diameter of the bov and JB weld it together??? well i guess my question isn't CAN it be dobe b/c i kno it "can" be done....i was just wondering if this is an efficient/ reliable way of mounting my BOV???

thanks

thats not the question i asked.... :P but THANKS!!! and if u read my quote and your response it makes no sense at all....in my quote i said/asked "i was just wondering if this is an efficient/ reliable way of mounting my BOV???

and u replied..."by welding a flange and mounting the bov"

which makes no sense at all to my previous question.....thanks for that helpful hint tho....

now does anybody know if this can be done are not??? but i think im about to answer my own question....after looking at the type-s bov it appears that if i remove the flange that it is already on there will be no more room to mount the bov....thats just what it looks like to me.... somebody correct me if im wrong.

thanks

that would be stupid! very stupid! why would you do that when the bov comes with a flange that is weldable, and easier, and cheaper to do rather than destroying the bov by cutting it? I jb weld a flange to my charge pipes before it worked. but aint no need to cut the bov flange off.

Re: BOV question?!?!

never really thought of that....how would it sit flush with the charge pipe tho....considering the pipe is round and the flange is flat? seems like there would be a gap on the edges??? is JB weld thick enough to fill that gap??? ive never really used JB weld before so i dont know.

Re: BOV question?!?!

jb weld will work, but it would benefit you better if you take to a exhaust shop and get it welded, probably cost you $5-$10 to get it welded.

Dont get the egay one's bought one for my supra and it was just what you'd expect for 60 or so bucks. piece of expletive garbage. but then again if your going to jb weld it in, then its no point in trying to get you to buy a HKS ssq, or a real greddy type s.

Re: BOV question?!?!

dude dont waste your time putting jb weld on there that would make it look shity as hell. and prolly the jb weld might crack and then you have a leak. so just get flange and weld so that it is done right
