BOV not opening..
Alright so I have the greddy type RS. It worked great with the previous setup (14b).. Now I switched to a t3/t4 and external wastegate and its not working all of a sudden. I never messed with the adjustment until tonight and loosened it all the was out so its pretty easy to open.. Nothing. I changed vacuum lines and still nothing.. Any clue anyone?

Re: BOV not opening..
maybe you tightened it. or your vacuum source is bullshit.
its also possible you have a terrible boost leak. but, judging by your post, you know nothing about anything so in that case drink bleach and die. |
Re: BOV not opening..
Just letting people know the changes made even though it could be irreverent. The vacume source has stayed the same. No leaks. No I didnt tighten it. I said I loosened it. Thats after I seen it wasnt opening. Could it be its possibly not making enough psi to open? 5.63 pound spring and reading at a little under 6.

Re: BOV not opening..
it should still open, check for boost leak

Re: BOV not opening..

look at the plunger when ur car's idling, if the screw is loose it should be open a little bit. |
Re: BOV not opening..
About the vac lines all I can say is they are almost all replaced with a tad bit bigger. I just dont see why it would effect it. Vacume source is from the intake.. Its building boost because I can hear the fluttering of the blades turning backwards.. (compressor surge) .. Plus I seen it on the gauge when I had on there temporarily.

Re: BOV not opening..
I am using a ebay greddy RS and I have to tighten it half the way for it to hold boost then again I run 23psi.
the downside is if you are a ricer and want to tell everyone that you are boosted it won't go off at low boost, but when if it blow off its a wicked sound. |
Re: BOV not opening..
are you sure it wasnt holding boost. a bov has pressure comming from the bottom, and the top, but the spings gives added tension to the top so it should hold no matter what, even if the screw is out all the way you should hold boost no matter what.

Re: BOV not opening..
You said you changed the vac line to the bov, make sure its not colapsing and sealing itself shut when in vac.
