bov flutter
how do you eliminate the surge? all this ---- will do is flutter. its a ssqv @ 5psi. is that not enough boost? is th there some way to adjust?

Re: bov flutter
i know when i was running low boost on my type s i had to open it up and take out one of the springs from the inside and there was an adjustment screw to make it looser.

Re: bov flutter
I think those bov have springs in them that you can adjust.
if its releasing pressure, then i wouldnt worry about it. if the compressor is surging then you have a problem. |
Re: bov flutter
i turned the boost up a little and now it blows off for a split second then flutters. i think it might just be how it works at low boost

Re: bov flutter
I had a really cheap knock-off at 7.5 psi and it did the same thing, I upgraded to a real HKS SQV (older design) and it stopped.

Re: bov flutter
just loosen the adjustment screw till its almost about to fall out and see what that does.

Re: bov flutter
the "adjustment" screw did nothing. well see what happens when i get this ---- tuned next week and can actually make real boost. if its still ------ flutterin an ---- ill buy another. i want a tyre s anyway. ---- it

Re: bov flutter
The springs have too much pressure, even with the screw adjusted out all the way. You can pull one of the springs out and it should help it a lot. Basically what's happening is the valve isn't opening fast enough if you're getting compressor surge.
