BOV failing at life
So my AZN BOV was not opening at all and I clipped off the top circle on the spring. Now its open at idle at -20hg vaccum lol. I just need to stack a quarter or two on top of it to make it stfu? Friggin Chinamen. At least I found my post MAF air leak.

Re: BOV failing at life
so whats your question?
sounds like you made the spring to short and there is now no resistance at all for the first little bit till the spring stops it. you'd be surprised what vaccume can do. Don't let the diaphram move without making the spring travel. i'd say a shim should work, but unless the spring is variable, you're basically doing the same thing as putting the piece of spring back on. |

There cdm what can you expect?

Re: BOV failing at life
Most bov's are going to open at idle regardless, whether they're cdm or real deal. It makes life harder on maf cars because too tight of a spring causes compressor surge and too loose makes the stop and go driving a little rough due to over enrichment. I use a Turbo XS H-34 on mine right now with one spacer, and before that had a Greddy Type-RS with a single large spring and both worked just fine once you adjust them right.
