bov
I just got my car finished and my bov is wicked delayed i a have the vac line coming off of the fpr, also i think it seems like its staying open to long. I have a cheap ebay bov and i had to weld it on because the bolts and o ring wornt doing the job. Any suggestions.

Re: bov
i dont see why it would be delayed, but you have to remember boost is what keeps the BOV closed, pressurised air from boost keeps the plunger or piston closed in the BOV, are you sure youre not hearing compressor surge????

Re: bov
Boost pressure is what keeps it closed but vacuum is what opens it. Vacuum is measured in mmHg and inHG, millimeters of mercury or inches of mercury. The spring inside is what dictates when and how much vacuum is needed for the wastegate to open.

Get yourself a mighty vac and test when it opens: http://jholland.phpwebhosting.com/si...urbo%20007.MOV |
Re: bov
Damm nice drawing that is quite sophisticated for HMT :D

Re: bov
is there a nut on there to tighten it up a bit(the spring that is)? that might have something to do with it.

Re: bov
my bov is a little differnt then the diagram, the boost enters c and exits b, and theres no diafragme its just a cylinder inside of a cylinder with grease in between to seal the vacume up, i tried synthetic grease because its thinner but now my bov doesnt work, i think but im not sure cause my car stopped stopped running yesterday and i didnt get much time to try it out. I think i need a new alternater now.

Re: bov
use a different vacume source. you shouldn't t off the fpr cause it could affect the air/fuel ratio. T off the PCV for the BOV.

Re: bov
try a new BOV .. lol that might work... but this time try to spend some cash for a better bov than an egay one ....lol
