Bought a Race ready d16a6! Have some ???

I just bought a d16a6 complete engine with the following:
SRP Dome Pistons
10.5:1 JG Performance Engine short block Balanced and Blueprinted to 10,500rpm
JG Performance Lightened Flywheel
ACT street clutch and plate
Gude Performance Head ported and polished w/ Competition valve job
GUde Bullfrog PCM
Gude High flow throttle body and Intake
Gude one peice header
Magnacore wires, alt, starter, tranny, intake manifold
Now as this list is impressive the one thing that wasen't replaced was the rods, and guess what went? But what i can tell is that the rod broke but did no damage to anything else. It blew a bearing. So my question is, This new purchase puts me in a new class of Tuner and was looking for some help? I would love to fix the rod and turbo the bitch, but have very little experience with this stuffDoes anyone have a breakdown of thge d16a6 engine, like vacum charts, wiring charts, pictures anything . Thanks

if you fried a crank bearing your gonna needa prolly get your crank micropolished.

as to what turbo to put on. lower the compression first. also that motor seems like it was built for just all motor not turboed. browse the site for similar setups.

Re: Bought a Race ready d16a6! Have some ???

yeah, i agree with shortyz that motor was most likely built for all motor or maybe nitrous. 10:5:1 compression is high for turbo, especially cuz its a D16a and not a B16. buy some performance rods and shoot a 75 shot of laughing gas!!! ;D

Re: Bought a Race ready d16a6! Have some ???

the rods not being replaced shouldnt have effected the bearing going....do you have receipts for the work...a balanced and blueprinted bottom end should really fry a bearing...thats just what im thinking

From what i see the rod is fine it looks like the bearing is gone. no turbo?

i hope gude didnt build the motor cuz they do ---- work.

Re: Bought a Race ready d16a6! Have some ???

Yea..Gude did the work. My question is the rod itself looks ok i mean the top where the piston connects and the sleeve looks good so i guess i start there. What i first should do is tear apart the whole thing and put it back together? Right ;D

No turbo for you, come back one year!!

So, does the motor turn? Can you spin the crank right now?

Re: Bought a Race ready d16a6! Have some ???

you can use b18b rods.....they're pretty thick for d-series rods, shot peened those would do the trick, but if you got the money just buy some aftermarket rods. Check out dseries.org....or maybe it's d-series.org....do a google search for d series forums....they have all the info you need
