Default Boosting problem, possibly injectors clipping?

Guys I've had this problem since I first installed my turbo but it seems to happen more often now.

Basically when I get into the boost on the car sometimes it falls on its face and starts running like ----. Then it will run like crap until I either put it in neutral and rev it up a few times or if I get into the gas and give it a little boost. It happens most often when the car downshifts into a lower gear when I mash the gas or if I slowly press the gas and reach wot...it does it when it shifts.

I keep thinking that its possibly my injectors clipping from my FMU increasing the fuel pressure. Then they are just sticking open but I'm just not sure whats up. Basically the car flutters after this happens and like I said runs very rough.

Any Ideas or has anyone had a problem similair? I turned the fmu down but my air/fuel gauge seems to go a lil leaner than I like it already...my egt temps are high In my opinion as well.

This weekend I'm going to install some larger injectors but I'm still curious what you guys might think.

Well since most of us drive hondas on here, and we probably dont know your managment setup that well, or how well your ecu responds to positive pressure. I would simple put your car on a dyno or get a wideband o2 so you know exactly whats going on. Tune the car for mid range and for WOT.

thats what I would do... just about with any setup wideband o2 ownz yo!

Jeff,

WIdeBandO2 is in the works but not until christmas. This car will be off the road in a month or so due to the winter in michigan.

The computer should not be seeing positive pressure, I do have a check valve on the Map sensor. I'm using a cartech adjustable FMU for fuel management. I realize most of you dont have a jbody lol but I thought it was worth asking. I'll get it figured out sooner or later, hopefully this weekend

1 check valve may also not be enough. what setting do u have the fmu at. remember.. 12:1 works for us 1.6l but you have 2.4l. that and the high ext temps tells me ur runnin lean.. ?

Sean, I will emial you later this evening. I'm actually in Big Rapids right now at Ferris State so its a ways away. I will try to check my plugs this evening or tomorrow, its raining and I have a lot to do today. They are gapped at 30 thousands which might not be enough gap, I'm not sure.

Crx88si,

Our map sensors are really not capable of reading positive pressure from what I understand. Many do not use check valves but I am to avoid damaging the sensor. The FMU is adjustable, I had it almost at its richest adjustment. I used to have this problem with I had the screw closed (the richest adjustment possible) If i backed it off a bit It seemed to not do it.

It also seems that on warmer days I dont have this problem but now the temperatures are dropping and its happening more often. I get this same problem a lot after I first start the car after driving for a short distance it will start to hesitate and not run correctly until I either rev it up or get into some boost. It doesnt have to be run hard to do this, I can just be easing and taking it very easy and it will begin hesitating.
