boosting a n/t eclipse

i'm going to help a good friend boost his 95 n/t eclipse soon, i know this has been done several times just looking for some knowledge or links anyone may have about it. what turbo is gonna work good for this set up? managment options? my best guess for managment is the afc hack with 450's. anyone on here that can build a log mani. for it? also does anyone know how strong these motors are, i was thinking maybe a 57 trim t3/t4 at like 6 psi, the budget will be about $2,000 of course less if possible, but we want it to be nice, i'll be sure to take lots of pics and post up when it happens, hopefully within like 4-6 weeks we can do it up....thanx again for any help fellas :y oh and it just got a reman jasper motor like 8 months ago so its in tip top, and a new clutch too....

the motors in stock form are decently strong but are by no means indestructible....and they can spool pretty big turbos. a friend of mine had some crazy t3/t4 with like 82/83 housings at like 23 lbs on a built block

Re: boosting a n/t eclipse

yeah i know they can spool insane huge turbos, but to keep it running good for more than a month on a stock bottom end i think a 57 trim t3/t4 is about the biggest we'll go, maybe just a 16g since they're easyer and cheaper to get, i still think a 16g at 6-7 psi is gonna be faster than a stock turbo eclipse, this guy has had this car since high school and he always wanted a 4g63 swap but couldnt afford, well now he works at kodak and makes decent money and i convinced him we can do a moderate set up on the stock motor that will be nice and still be fast while maintaining some reliabilty, any one know the stock c/r, isntr it like 9:1? any other opinions on managment? with the afc hack should i use a btm?

My buddy has the star stage 2 kit on his eclipse. Don't know if that helps you, but maybe with the charge pipes and stuff.
