Boosted B18b1

Well this is my first post on HMT but i've been reading the forums for a while now (great job on the site lots a good info).

Anyway to the point. I just finished rebuilding my LS motor (in my dinning room) and before i swap it into my EK i want to have everything i need to boost it. Currently the only things i don't have are a manifold and a turbo. The motor wasn't built for boost i basicly just rebuilt it back to stock spec with all new honda parts. My question is what would be the best turbo to use. I'm not looking to make huge power i only want a reliable 250hp with a pretty quick spool time. I'll be using a SAFC hack for tuning for now unitl i find a better way around the OBDII system. So please let me know what you think.

a .48/.60 t3 or a .63/.60 t3 would both be very good turbos for teh amount of power you're looking for and either would spool up pretty quick, but the .48/.60 would spool a little quicker. as far as tuning obd2, just get an obd2-obd1 conversion harness and get an obd1 ecu chipped for uberdata. read about this in the 'engine management' section.

Wish i could convert to OBD1 form OBD2A: I did this with my last car, But with the new emission and inspection in jersey it will fail, I barley passed last time with the correct ECU and OBD system. Jersey has been cracking doiwn and have all these new regulations.

wow, they actually look at your ecu and ---- :P all it is is a plug in harness, you could just unplug it and plug your obd2 ecu back in when it's time for inspection, there are people who take there whole turbo kit off for inspection/emissions. :-\

They don't look at the ECU but when every they ran emission tests on my car i would always fail with the OBD1 ECU pluged in. But switching them out sounds like a plan. I've been looking at the Urbdata and now i'm just reading up on it so i can learn the programing.

yeah, it literally only takes 1 minute to unplug the harness and plug your obd2 ecu back in, but you would also have to have a good tune memorized for your afc b/c something would still have to control the injectors when the obd2 ecu is in.

or swap the injectors to :)
A bit more work, but it's only for inspections
