Re: boosted 5th gear pulls????
how is possible for your obd1 ecu to read gears.
I`ve done too many 5th gear pull and it held up just fine, even tho it did blew up after it was sold :8 |
Re: boosted 5th gear pulls????
the 5th gear sensor wire on the PCB is about 0.01mm away from the J1 jumper. During 5th gear pulls at WOT, the full 5 volts from the TPS signal wire which runs next to the FGS (fifth gear sensor) wire, shorting it out which causes a voltage spike and a reset on the J1 jumper wire relay thus internittent reversions to the stock ignition map.....
everybody knows that. :y |

Re: boosted 5th gear pulls????
Don't do it unless it's a built motor, but really it's kind of dangerous doing 140mph+ on the streets.
The rumor is false as you've presented it. It's true because of the heat that builds. 5th gear > 3rd gear in terms of load so it's pumping tons of hot air into your ready to catapult a piston motor. Don't do it. JP |
