i tried boosting a 90 corolla with the 4a-fe back int the day. first trip around the block it shot the number 1 piston out of the block. good luck

Lol @ ^^^ , sounds like you got a good build goin on there man . I have been running the 10:3 c/r for the last month and a half just fine. Blew the head gasket last weekend. Not as a result of the boost , but a leaky radiator . Didnt the 4ag and 4af pistons differ ? Dished vs concaved ? You had better make sure before you swap them in . I will go look at some later to make sure . Like a said earlier you got a good build going there, sounds like you took the time to do some research.

Anyways the 4agze (supercharged) have bigger combustion chambers thats why using its pistons will leave me with a higher c/r than their known for.Like I mentioned in a previous post the 8.9:1 4agze piston is EXACTLY the same as my 9.5:1 4afe piston so a 8:1 4agze piston will leave me with just bellow 8.5:1 c/r. The bad news is you don't get 8:1 4agze pistons anymore! I don't want to go for copper headgaskets as its unreliable so all thats left is shortening the conrods!Doing that I'll be compromising the Toyota's wonderful HIGH REVING ability.But I guess you can't always have the best of both worlds hey!? |
