Boost Switch/Sensor.
I am looking for a Boost Preddure switch/sensor. I know they exist. I needs to put out a 12v signal when the psi it's set or fixed at is acheived. Does anyone know of any or a part number.
I'm using it to actuate a E-Cut on my exhuast. |
Re: Boost Switch/Sensor.
atpturbo.com sells an E-cutout with a wastegate on it so when boost comes on, it opens. Most motorized cutouts that I've seen are very slow at opening, so it wouldn't open all the way until half way through the rpms. Also, you could wire up one of honda's many solenoids (GSR, H22 mani, EVAP, etc) with a switch inline with the atp cutout so you could boost without it opening. |
Re: Boost Switch/Sensor.
Too late, I already have the E-Cut on it's way. It actually has a fast open to it. I have been talking to the seller of them. If not, then I just do it manually, or RPM Activated.

Re: Boost Switch/Sensor.
Oops. I also meant to tell you, the switch you are looking for is a Hobbs switch. They are boost activated and are adjustable. |
Re: Boost Switch/Sensor.
Or you could look up on some mini-truck parts sites...they make a special pressure switch that is normally used for airtanks to turn a compressor on or off, and most are adjustable.

Re: Boost Switch/Sensor.
ack, I was just about to say it's a Hobbs switch...
Here's a couple: http://www.atpturbo.com/Merchant2/me...egory_Code=BCS http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Boost...spagenameZWDVW And if you happen to be any good with circuits, you can use a MAP sensor and make a circuit that opens or closes it depending on the value. I'm not sure how u plan on doing this with a simple hobbs switch though. At best you have a SPDT which will allow you to close the E-cut when off and open when the switch is on... but the e-cut is basically gonna be powered in one direction or the other at all times. That'll prolly burn out the motor in a few minutes/hours. |

Re: Boost Switch/Sensor.
Hobb's that's the name of the company.
Yes they have a microswitch. Wasn't worried about that. and I guess I could use the MAP Sensor voltage. I would probably use a 5volt switching relay or something like that. |
Re: Boost Switch/Sensor.
You can use a hobbs type switch that uses boost pressure to activate.
