Default boost problem after installing cams

i installed some type r cams in my car, and went to the dyno. My boost gauge would climb to 6 to 7 psi, but once vtec kicked on, it would drop to 6. For the hell of it we turned vtec off and made a run, and it ran up to 10 psi.....what could be causing this.
It is a vortech charger on a ls/vtec if that matters.
good news is i picked up 30 hp off of cams. 265@6 psi...not too shabby

not answering your question, but those are some impressive numbers. Whats your setup up? I'm assuming its a stock block is that why you are running it at 6-7psi?

Well, it's a supercharger, what do you expect.
If your engine's VE (volumetric efficiency) rises, your boost goes down because the SC is still pumping the same amount of air.

u can tune it out

u need adjustable cam gears to eliminate the overlap by adjusting the cams a little at a time
