To boost or not to boost

well i started getting all my parts for my HMT.i have always swapped my civics/integra and i have always wanted a sohc turbo. well finally i got me another ek hatch stock/auto and decided this was the one. now here lies the problem, the hatch is clean automatic with around 100k miles. no check engine lights no smoke no problems.i have everything for a 5spd conversion. and i so far have a turbo/manifold/downpipe/boost controller/and other parts i have started collecting to put this turbo together.i can do all the labor myself but i just dont know if i should go through all the trouble or just leave it alone. what do you guys think?

Re: To boost or not to boost

This decision should be left up to you! Do you want to put all the effort into swapping to a 5spd and putting on the turbo? These are relatively simple things to do if you have experience with it. With the cleanlyness thats also up to you. If you hack a turbo set up and just toss it together half assed well then obviously its not going to look very clean. And really its a sohc. If you blow it up you can find another for realatively cheap if not free. In the end YOU should be deciding if you feel its right for you, not other people.

pathetic?you got some ugly ass ricer focus on your avatar and your calling me pathetic?

i was simply asking for some advice from some already turbo ppl thats why i asked here on hmt.

i can do all the work but i just want someone else thoughts on whether or not to tamper with a motor/car that doesnt need anything mechanically. like i said i have already started collecting parts and i do intend on doing it i just want some ones input on any set backs i might have from doing this. :)

btw if you dont intend on giving some advice GTFO of the thread

You have to turbo it eventually.
If you have everything for the 5-speed conversion, do that first.
Once you have all the bugs worked out, finish collecting your turbo parts, then post the list.
Post some pictures of the conversion.

Definitely change over to 5-speed first, don't forget to take pictures and make a thread about it.

Re: To boost or not to boost

you could boost 1000psi and still be gay lol. its not about being a ----- i just wnat to hear something from the turbo guys

as for the 5spd conversion, you guys serious about wanting pix?its not a big deal if i get some time off this weekend ill do it and post some pix up. ive done it quite a few times before i just never had a good camera lol. but if you guys are serious i would gladly post pix

not that i want it to run forever. i mean i dont want it to only last a week or something lol but i want to boost and just have fun with it. like i said i have always swapped my cars but i want to go fast in a sohc ;)
