Default boost leaks on compressor backplate. **** for the nogs.

well i have had trouble with boost fluttering on my sohc turbo so I pressure tested it, found a ---- ton of leaks on the pipes and fixed them all.

now i have 1 more leak on the turbo backplate itsself. i know its supposed to seep out a little bit but theres no way it should leak like it is. only does it on the 1 section (as pointed out). any suggestions?

btw: garret turbo, low mileage. was built by blaast not too long ago

scrape half of the gasket you left on it, get thick grease and seal the backing plate. reassemble. done.

i havnt taken it apart, just clocked it. i i honestly didnt think there was a gasket there, just metal to metal. which would mean somethings kittywompuss with the decking.

don't JB weld it just yet, and if i remember correctly there isn't a gasket at that site.

just take the front cover off ( it's 6-8 bolts).. you should take the turbo off, But i guess u can just do it on the car.
There is a plate with every 2 bolts. One of them might be bent allowing it to not be tighten completly. Or it may just be loose to begin with ( did u try seeing if the bolts were loose?)

yeah i put a wrench on all the bolts but they were pretty tight. i'll take off that cover and check the threads and decking. lost my ------ hks filter somewhere on the road...
