Default boost gauge reading wrong?

Is this a possibility with the autometer pro comp series boost gauge?

Im asing because I notice that sometimes at ZERO and even sometimes under heavy throttle at low vacuum I hear a small PSH form the BOV

so is the gauge reading wrong or is this normal

if your turbo is only spining a bit but not enough to boost (fill) a 1.6l engine with positive pressure it still could fill the charge pipe and let a little blow off out. I can rev mine from a idle and blow off but I cant rev it and make boost. I know I suck at expaning :P

it's ok as long as it's not too loose to leak under full boost
