Default Boost Gauge Question

Hey, just got a boost gauge from autometer, but it is marking right now like 2.5 psi, will it work anyways, or is it messed up? I'm just thinking that when I put everything together if it marks 10psi is actually more like 7.5. I'm I right or should I just get another one, I would return it but got it from a guy over the mail used.

mine was like that when i got it, but it was reading 1psi. I called autometer and they said it was like that due to alt. changes wile shipping (BS), I hooked it up anyway and after my first boosting it reset to 0. I have a SBC-ID and it reads the same thing my gauge is reading so the gauge is ok, yours is probley ok too.
