Default boost gauge not showing boost

My gauge shows neither boost nor vacuum.. does that mean I have a leak somewhere? Or is there something else that could be wrong? I've checked all my hoses and can't seem to find the leak if that's the case.

Also on a Tial wastegate, I have the fitting on the side running down to the compressor housing and had the fitting on the top running to vacuum. However I read somewhere the fitting on the top could be left open to atmosphere. Is that true?

where did u hook up the gauge to ?
is it electronic/mechanical?
with the external WG u need to use only the side port.
hook it up to the turbo or the intake manifold. and leave the top port open.

hook the guage up to a vac source on the intake manifold past the tb. if u have no leaks in the line going to the guage u should be reading in vacume.

gauge is mechanical and hooked up to my golden eagle vacuum manifold which is connected to the intake manifold.

alright well I know now to leave the top of the wastegate open.

Thanks for the info - I'll post a picture tomorrow

does it show boost when you are at full throttle. B./c i have a autometer one and my boost doesn;t show until i drive the car and feel the boost kick in, then it shows. i can't sit there and rev it up and have the boost move, b/c it doesnt

your turbo would have to be the size of a coffe cup (real small) for it to be able to show boost while reving the engine. i have an autometer gauge too. do you hear a small hiss from the gauge while boost is building?

i have it hooked up just like the instructions say with that small clear plastic hose. the hose runs through the throttle cable hole in the firewall and i have a realy thin vacuume line that the plastic hose goes into i have the vacuume hose clamped onto the clear plastic boost gauge
hose.

Pull the plastic line off the gauge with the car idleing does it leak a very small amount of vacume? Try sticking your tounge to it. If it does your gauge is fucked if it doesn't then you have a leak or your hooked up wronge.

well I have it hooked up with the pieces that came with the gauge. It's an autometer as well. Sorry I didn't get a chance to take pictures.

I went back and redid all the vacuum hoses so we'll see if i fixed the leak.
