Boost and A/F gauge help...PLEASSSE!!

Alright fellas, I checked the FAQ's and nothing there is like what I got...Both of these are going in a 91 EX with a D16a6....my boost gauge is made by LAMCO and I was told it comes from a Skyline...it has 1 beige/yellowish colored wire coming out of a cylinder that is at the TOP of the BACK of the gauge, and two prongs that IT LOOKS LIKE you'd connect vacuum lines to...anybody know how to hook that up?? or how to read for that matter, upwards on the guage it reads .5 and then 1.0(this is BAR right?) and then KG/cmsquared(2), downwards it reads to 30 and then to 76 and then says CM/Hg....my air/fuel guage has just a blank black screen(LED??) and has a red, black, and light green colored wires coming out the back....I'd appreciate the help fellas...sorry if this is a nooober but like I said nothing in the FAQ's looks like what I have...peaaace

I'll take a swing

I'm assuming the vac/boost gauge is a mechanical? if it has ports off the back of the gauge I would assume you just need to give it a source such as intake manifold pressure. Simple as that. As far as wires coming off the boost/vac gauge, my guess is that it has the option to light up. (but then you should have 2 wires right?)

A/F gauge.. this is a total guess, but Red is going to be 12v, black is Ground and the light green will be your source wire, just tap this into your single wire o2 sensor.

good luck,
Jeff

thanx guys, you're right jeff it is mechanical and that one wire does lead inside to a bulb, but there's only that one wire???...and the A/F isn't an autometer but I'm pretty sure it hooks up the way you say, I just wasn't sure about the greenish colored wire...good lookin' out, peaaace

My simple guess would be that the housing is supposed to be grounded and that single wire is the positive lead.

Yup, but if your using a autometer plastic pod your kinda screwed, no ground there ;) I'm sure you can rig up something.

Well the pod on this one is metal....so that means it's grounded?? hope that doesn't sound TOOO stupid...and how do I read tha damn thing?? You guys talk about psi as in you know 5-15 whatever...this one the needle sits in the middle(when not hooked up & at idle, right?), the #'s going up read like 1.0 and 1.1(that's supposed to be boost, right?) and the #'s going downward are like to 30 or 50 and then to like 76(that's vaccum, right?)...i'm just tryin' to figure how to read it in PSI....thanx again..peaace

If the pod is metal, just attach a ground to it somehow and that will ground the gauge.

You are correct about the boost/vac although your gauge seems funny. It sounds like it reads in bars instead of psi. Does it start at 1.0? That's a hell of a starting point.
