Boost creep?

Well, i searched and check teh faq's, but what exactly is, and what causes boost creep. and is it any different than boost spike. After reading how a guy blew his motor becuase of a boost spike, im trying to avoid any situations where this might happen. Any info is appreciated, thanx.

Re:Boost creep?

creep is when the wastegate cant flow enough to keep the boost down. happens a lot with big turbos and small internal gates.

Ahhhh, so i really shouldnt worry about it on an internally wastgated ihi, where the stock exhaust size is like 1.75", lol. ITs tiny.

you never know, talk to others with them, it matters more how well the wg flows

Porting out the wastegate helps a little but as far as I thought, boost creep was the reverse of a spike isn't it? Its where the turbo can't hold a consistent pressure and slowly "leaks" boost away. Because of how sensitive the actuators are on the internal wastegates?
