Boost Creep
so i fucked up my actuator, got another one from a junk yard, made up new bracket and all, bolted it on but now the car is boost creeping which it has NEVER done before. so i coff up for a brand new actuator, mount it on new bracket same story.
wtf is going on, i have very limited space and the new bracket is dead straight(which gives me 20-30mm more so the avearge actuator will fit in there), the original backet was at a angle and had a step in it (and the diaprahm housing was tiny and it JUST fitted in) but i butched it and bin it a week ago so now WTF do i do. if i look at all new turbo pics the actuators are never dead straight, you'll recon thats the problem? the car is doing the text book "boost creep" but upto dangerious level's |
Post your set-up so we can see what your working with

^^^ YES...since your internaly wastegated...thats really common...you can either get a open dump which if you like the loud ass sound then go for it. or convert to external. which would be your best bet man.

i put a bicyle/hand pump straight onto the actatour and just before it at max stretch out it pushes up against a oil feed, so it looks like that is the problem. waiting for the car to cool down then will try again and let you know ... |
Just get gangsta with it, and find a way to cope with the boost creep :)
It makes for more fun. |
I would make sure that the flapper opens all the way. If it does i would port the exhaust housing so it would flow better.
